美國猶他州有塊知名的巴納維亞(Bonneville)鹽帶平地，一望無際的平原地貌，非常適合各式車輛狂飄，所以舉凡賽車、肌肉車、超級摩托車，或是極速挑戰「火箭車」，都很喜歡選擇這裡當成試驗的場地。如今極速挑戰已不是眾人致力追求夢想，因此攝影師Alexandra Lier決定透過鏡頭，忠實紀錄這經典又樸實的「速度年代」。

現居德國的攝影師Alexandra Lier自1999年開始，每年都會前往巴納維亞鹽地參加直線加速活動，除了按下快門記錄各種勁車以外，也會拍攝一些當地的人文風光，像是攤商、維修店、加油站、賽車手等等，讓整個在地飆速文化得以完整保留。

攝影師Alexandra Lier已經將多年來拍攝的作品彙集成冊，並出版「世界最速(The World´s Fastest Place)」攝影集，已引發不小迴響與討論，希望將這份特有「競速」文化繼續傳承下去。
